💬 I'm fairly new to the tattoo world and the responsibilities involved with working for myself and running a business. When I decided to take the Pirates to Professional course with Ryan it came at a perfect time. I was really starting to feel the excitement of making more money than I ever have but also feeling the stress of not knowing what I'm doing and having very little financial organization. Never having learned anything about business, I really want to do this the right way and set myself up for the future and have the opportunity to eventually buy a house. Being a responsible adult is hard and I was hoping Ryan could offer me some guidance.

 

My biggest concern about working with Ryan was that I would get too overwhelmed and wouldn't be able to keep up with each step of the process, or that the financial management structure would be too difficult for me to put into practice.

 

Since working with Ryan I have taken the inner workings of  my business to a level of professionalism that I don't think I could have achieved on my own. I have a clear system for saving money, not only for myself, but for taxes rather than a mystery chunk of money coming out of my personal savings account each year. Using tools I wasn't utilizing before, I can now spare myself the full meltdown I experience every tax season painstakingly going through every transaction I made that year. Being more in control of my finances has also inspired me to raise my hourly rate, now that I have a clear picture of how much money I'm actually making versus how much is going towards business expenses.

 

Ryan's guidance has helped me to feel more empowered in my ability to be successful and responsible with my money. It has also eased my anxiety around how to save money for my future and for investments I'd like to make. This structure and mindset is something I'll use for the rest of my life.

 

What I like most about working with Ryan is his ability to present information in a way that is easily understandable and actionable. None of this comes naturally to me but Ryan was able to take the intimidation out of the process by laying everything out step by step without it being too daunting or overwhelming. I also really appreciate working with someone who has a lot of experience as a tattooer because he is able to tailor every aspect to financial issues we face as tattooers, but would also apply to anyone working in a creative service based field.

 

The biggest thing I took away from working with Ryan was how to organize myself. My usual way of dealing with these things has been to throw everything together and then sort it out later which has caused me a ton of anxiety surrounding money and running my own business. Without changing anything other than my approach with Ryan's system I'm able to save myself money, time, and a lot of stress. Ultimately I feel much more at peace with my ability to support my life and dreams.

 

You should work with Ryan if you're in a creative field and you love what you do but the business side doesn't come as naturally. He'll help get you on track to keep making money through your passion and keep your focus there and not on the parts that stress you out.
